Critical Essay

            The person I am going to be writing about is Ansel Adams. Ansel Adams is a landscape photographer. His picture are mostly black and white and are taken in west America. His pictures impacted the people as a whole and individually. He was born in San Francisco, California on February 20, 1902. He died on April 22, 1984 in Monterey, California. He married his wife Virginia Best in 1928.

            Ansel Adams is a black and white landscape photographer. He takes pictures of the American West that are featured in calendars and posters. The most that has been in calendars and posters are the pictures from Yosemite National Park. The popularity of his work increased after his death. His intention with photography was for the campaign of to preserve the natural landscape. He then went on to just taking pictures of landscape for a career.

            His work impacted the world because the landscape he photographed was seen from all over the world to people that probably can’t see that landscape in person. He could have also influenced some people to start photography. Some people might have looked at his work and decided to start some of their own stuff. Others might have given up on photography but Ansel got them to get taking photographs. His photographs were a way for people to see the western part of California.

            His work impacted me I personally like photographs of landscapes. I like having my wallpaper on my phone of nature. Ansel Adams has taken pictures of nature so I use a picture of his work as my wallpaper. With his work I get to see the parts of the world I haven’t seen before. His work of photos inspire me to take some of my own picture. So when I do go out to places with just nature I take pictures and they look similar to his.

            The result of the impact he made on the world is that there are now new photographers. People that have seen his work and were inspired are now taking some of their own pictures. They might not be the same as his but he still inspired them to go out and take pictures. It doesn’t necessarily have to be new landscape photographers it can be any type of new photographers. Because of him now we have many types of different landscape photographers.
